His excellency Governor W. L. Sharkey,
Honored Sir, I hope you will be pleased to give me an anser to a few Short questions,
1. Has the Constitution of the United States been altered or amended, so as to recognize the right of property in slaves,
2. If not, has it been changed or amended at all on the subject, of Slavery during the past war,
Honored sir, I address you as the Union candidate for the office of representing Neshoba County in the apporoaching State Convention, I have no experience as an election-eering trickster, but claim to be an humble minister in the Methodist E. Church South, Nearly the entire strength of the Secession party in this county are against me [strikethrough]in this county[strikethrough], I mean, such as have not met Truly represented and been soundly converted, Please answer The above questions honoured sir, and accept a tender of my highest regards.,

The constitution has not yet been altered but will be, as the amend ment lacks only one State, which it will get in Tennessee
