The State of Mississippi
Lawrence County

Personally [came?] and appeared before me the undersigned Justice of the Peace for the above County and State Sarah Neece who is the wife of William Neece a soldier now in Co "B" 3rd Missi Regt Lonings Division do solemnly swear on oath that on the 27th April last a man named Jim Outen or Woten and a man named Lieut Nelson who claim to blong to J. W. Pierce's command, said Pierce claims to have power to raise a company and has his residence in Brookhaven Missi those men Noten and Nelson claim to belong to Pearce's command and on the above date entered the field of said Sarah Neece and forcibly took there from My horse a small dun poney, the only one that I have to plough and cultivate my piece of land to support my four children.
