Novr, 8th 1862.
Dear Sir,
It has been suggested to me, that the familes of the Soldiers, in this part of the country are, or Soon will be, in a Suffering condition Can there be nothing done to prevent this? Corn for bread, is very Scarce in this & adjoining counties, but there is plenty in the prairie counties, which is being now bought up by "Shylocks" and distillers, if this could be prevented, and a suitable quantity secured, while cheap, for these suffering families, would it not be a good move?
I make these hereto, only on account of the soldiers wives & chilren, Their husbands & fathers being unable to Come home and provide for them,
